The Syrian Society for Child Cancer Care and Treatment organized today recreational activities in the chalets of the Officers Club in Lattakia for a number of children with cancer from several governorates, as part of providing psychological treatment to them and their families.

In statements to SANA reporter, the founder and president of the association, Muzna Olabi, stated that the association annually fulfills a dream for children with cancer patients it cares for, and this year’s project is titled “Dream Journey 3”, which is to visit sick children to the Syrian coast and enjoy the views of the sea and the mountain, which provides full psychological support for them, pointing to What is new in “Dream 3” is that it includes injured children from several governorates, including Al-Hasakah, Deir ez-Zor, Aleppo and Hama.

Olabi said: Despite the difficulties, we were able to realize the children's dream and organize the trip, pointing out that the trip program includes a series of activities, including a children's party in the club hall, which will be sponsored by the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor.

Olabi indicated that there are children who have made a full recovery during the previous flights, and there are those who have reached an advanced stage of treatment, and some have come in a "deplorable condition and came out in a very good condition that amazed the doctors, in addition to the presence of cases under observation."

The social worker, Fadia Bhouq, confirmed that such activities have a positive impact on the psychological and health status of the affected children. When they feel happy and optimistic, their health improves and their immunity increases.

Volunteer Nancy Al-Qadi pointed out that the “Dream 3” activity fulfills the children’s dream of swimming, playing on the sand and recreation, while the volunteer Hana Kurdi pointed to providing assistance to the injured children and their families as much as possible to meet their needs and participating in various activities to support them.

With regard to public safety, among the volunteer nurse in the association, an assistant to the administrative staff, Abdel Nasser Muslim, that a study of the child’s condition was conducted before going on the trip. An emergency situation such as high fever, headache, dizziness and sensitivity.

Mohammed Al-Jadaan, who works as a lifeguard volunteer in the association, pointed out that the beaches are monitored around the clock so that the children are close to them and to prevent any rush to the depth, allowing them to practice their activities without any accidents, knowing that no emergency situation has occurred so far.

A number of children and their families expressed great happiness and thanks for what the association provided, hoping for the recovery of all patients. Ammar Abdel Hamid Taqi, the father of the injured girl, Ibtisam, and Fatima Junaid, the mother of the patient Naim, expressed their appreciation for the association’s management, activities and care for children.
