The Lattakia national team won first place in the general arrangement of the Republic Championship for boxing in the junior category, which was set up by the Game Federation in Aleppo, with the participation of 115 players who represented most of the provinces and a number of sports bodies.
The Lattakia team came first in the championship with 40 points, followed by the Hama team with 23 points, then the Homs team with 17 points, then the Army Authority with 14 points.
The weights championship was won by: Khader Al-Hassan (46kg), Al-Mu’min Allah Al-Qais 48kg, Nimr Darwish 50kg, Omar Al-Hussein 52kg, Youssef Omar 54kg, Al-Hassan Qadous 57kg, Nasr Al-Jammal 60kg, Asad Darwish 63kg, Ali Diop 66kg, Ali Sher 70kg, Haider Jugaili 75kg, Issa Hamida Hassan 80kg, and Asad Darwish 63kg.
Tournament supervisor Ahmed Wattar said in a statement to SANA that the technical level of the tournament was good, as a group of promising talents emerged that will be the nucleus of the project to prepare the sports champion in boxing, pointing out that the best boxers in the tournament will be selected to participate in the Asian Children’s Games Championship, which will be held in Russia during the period from the twenty-fourth of this month to the tenth of next month.
