Karl Lauterbach and Hendrik Streeck, the two did not always agree in the course of the pandemic.
But now the SPD health expert admits that the virologist was “absolutely right” with his summer forecast.
Berlin (dpa) - SPD health expert Karl Lauterbach has given the virologist Hendrick Streeck right with regard to the influence of the summer months on the corona virus.
"Regarding the influence of seasonality on the infection process, I admit: Hendrik Streeck was absolutely right," he told the "Bild".
Streeck had told the web.de portal in January: “As we saw last spring - the number of infections will go down in March and April at the latest.
This is the typical behavior of coronaviruses, which only spread at a low level over the summer months. ”He assumes that there will only be a few cases.
Lauterbach and the Bonn virologist had significant differences several times in the course of the pandemic.
Streeck had often pleaded for a slightly less strict line in the corona measures.
