The meeting of the Lebanese national parties, forces and personalities condemned the massacre committed by the Lebanese Forces militia against peaceful demonstrators who came out today to express their position rejecting the politicization of the investigation into the explosion in the port of Beirut.

The meeting explained in a statement that the crime was aimed at dragging Lebanon into the civil war in implementation of American plans and orders and in service of the Zionist enemy, pointing out that there was a prior intention to commit the massacre by deploying snipers on the roofs of buildings surrounding the roads used by peaceful demonstrators and targeting innocent participants by shooting them in the head.

The meeting called on the security and judicial agencies not to tolerate the killers known by names, starting with those who issued orders, incited, planned, executed and brought them to justice, and imposed the most severe penalties against them on charges of starting a civil war, which falls under the charge of high treason.

In turn, the Free Patriotic Movement stressed that what happened today is an armed and unacceptable attack on people who wanted to express their opinion. Therefore, the judicial and security authorities have a duty to reveal the identity of the criminals who shed blood and bring them to trial in a speedy, transparent and fair manner, because they were preparing a sedition that had been ended.

The movement renewed its support for the judicial investigation into the bombing of Beirut Port, and to cover all aspects of the crime, without contenting itself with administrative and occupational negligence, while not politicizing the investigation, adopting discretion or targeting anyone.

For his part, the head of the Marada Movement, Suleiman Franjieh, called on the security forces to do their part to control the situation, punish criminals, and maintain the security and safety of citizens.

Franjieh said on his Twitter account, "May God have mercy on the martyrs who led their blood to sedition, and all appreciation for the awareness and sense of responsibility of Hezbollah and the Amal movement, which prevented us from being drawn into this sedition."

While the Beirut Scholars Association considered that reaching the point of penetration by shedding innocent blood in the streets, this means a high level of conspiracy against the resistance by orders coming from Awkar’s den and plunging the country into strife with the aim of completing the project of besieging the resistance and weakening it by all means.

The commission condemned the deliberate criminal act of killing peaceful demonstrators in front of the Palace of Justice in protest of the bias of the judicial investigator in the port disaster case, his politicization of this national issue, and his diversion of the investigation from its impartial judicial path to reveal the truth.

The commission stressed that the killing and loss of innocent lives that took place is a described crime and that it is unacceptable to transcend it without holding the perpetrators accountable.

Six Lebanese were killed and about 60 others were wounded in an ambush carried out by the Lebanese Forces party militants against unarmed demonstrators who set out from Tayouneh roundabout towards the Palace of Justice to demand justice in the Beirut port explosion case.

The leaderships of Hezbollah and the Amal Movement confirmed in a joint statement that groups of the Lebanese Forces party were deployed in neighborhoods and on the rooftops of buildings and practiced direct sniping operations to deliberately kill, which caused this number of victims and wounded.
