A mountain bike rider at night before the abyss, a crashed paraglider and a seriously injured mountain cyclist have demanded a lot from the volunteers of the Lenggries mountain rescue service over the past few days.

The Lenggries mountain rescue service had to cope with a challenging mission on Thursday evening when they had to rescue a mountain biker over the abyss at night.
On Saturday the volunteers then had to move out three times. At around 12 noon, they were alerted about a paragliding accident at the southern take-off point at Brauneck, reports former standby head Christoph Brenninger. The pilot, a 29-year-old from Bad Tölz, fell after taking off from a height of around 15 meters. "He complained of pain in the thoracic vertebrae," reports Brenninger. Due to the injury profile, the volunteers at Latschenkopf and a helicopter with an emergency doctor and winch were also requested. Rescue helicopter Christoph 17 came from Kempten.
At the scene of the accident, the Tölzer was looked after and secured by the personnel until the emergency doctor arrived.
In a recovery bag he was hoisted into the helicopter and flown to Murnau for examination.
According to Brenninger, there were five volunteers from Lenggries and two mountain watchmen each from Wolfratshausen and Munich.
Heavy fall with the e-bike
While this mission was still going on at Brauneck, the operations manager was informed by the rescue control center in Weilheim that there was an injured cyclist in the area of the Tölzer Marterl in the Hirschbachtal. A second team immediately went to the scene of the accident in the mountain rescue vehicle, followed by the operations manager from Brauneck. Since it was not possible to call back to the accident site, it was decided to have a mountain rescue ambulance with them, as the rescue control center announced that the injured person had a severe hip and pelvic injury with severe pain. In addition, a rescue helicopter with a winch was requested, reports Brenninger.
Upon arrival at the scene of the accident in Hirschbachtal, the injuries were confirmed.
The 53-year-old rider of an e-bike braked too hard in a curve and as a result had a serious fall.
The rescue helicopter landed in the Hirschbach Saddle area, from where the medical crew was brought to the patient by mountain rescue vehicle.
After the cyclist had stabilized, the vehicle returned to the helicopter.
The helicopter flew the 53-year-old to the accident hospital in Murnau.
"Thanks go to the first responders who behaved in an exemplary manner and supported the workers," says Brenninger.
Help also in the rehabilitation clinic
On the mountain, the missions were over on Saturday, but not in the valley: some volunteers still had to go to the rehabilitation clinic in Lenggries to support the rescue service there, reports Brenninger.
Sunday passed relatively calmly until this issue went to press.
In the mornings, the members of the standby group practiced rope and knot science and deepened their knowledge of the way and the place.
