A 3-year-old boy and his mother send a letter to the dead grandparents in the sky with a balloon.

"Mail from Heaven" is coming back.

Königsbrunn - It is a story that moves you to tears.

Every year on his birthday, 3-year-old Liam and his mother Simone send a letter to heaven to his grandma and his two grandpas.

Liam only knows his grandparents from photos because they died before he was born.

The family from Königsbrunn (Augsburg district) let the message rise into the sky with a balloon last week (July 20).

After five days something happens that nobody expected: an answer is in the mailbox.

"We were very flabbergasted," says mother Simone in an interview with

.

Because of the painted angel on the back, she thought at first that the letter came from friends or acquaintances.

When Simone reads the letter, she is moved to tears and has to cry at first.

In the letter stands:

"Dear Liam, we wish you all the best and happy birthday!

We miss you so incredibly much!

But please never forget: We are always with you and take care of you from up here.

With the utmost love, your grandma and grandpa from heaven.

We love you very much."

"It was all very emotional," says Simone.

"Even my brother-in-law and my husband cried and they are actually very brave."

Liam was also very happy, even if he doesn't understand everything exactly yet.

Simone posted the letter in the "Kleinanzeige Augsburg" Facebook group, and the post was shared more than 2,800 times.

Numerous people were also touched online and were happy about the warmth of the unknown sender.

Augsburg radio station helps family in search of "angels on earth"

HITRADIO RT1 Augsburg was the first to report the story and used all means to help the family find the unknown sender.

According to the postmark, the letter came from Zusmarshausen.

"So he flew 40, 45 kilometers."

According to Simone, people who do such things are true “angels on earth.”

Apparently, the unknown angel has now reported to Radio Schwaben.

A meeting between the two is planned for early Friday evening (July 29).

Simone is very excited about the still unknown woman and how exactly she found the balloon.

"She probably said to the radio station that the letter was so sweet, she just had to answer it." Simone would find out more on Friday

.
