Houssem Aouar will be deprived of the OL - Reims match on Sunday (1 p.m.), as revealed by the L'Equipe channel.

The international hopeful midfielder, 22, is sanctioned for refusing to perform physical work requested by the staff just after the victory in Angers (1-0) which he followed from the sidelines last Sunday.

At the final whistle, Claude Fichaux, Rudi Garcia's assistant, came to get Aouar from the locker room so that he joined the field to do physical work with the other players who had not played.

This work of a small half-hour was programmed by the staff in order to keep all the elements of the group in the rhythm, the match before training having been very light and the players being at rest at home on Monday.

Aouar declined, however, citing the poor condition of the field, not without causing some irritation among the staff.

Consequence: Vincent Ponsot, the director of football, and Juninho, the sports director, then decided to sanction the young player, with the consent of the boss, Jean-Michel Aulas.

No game before December 6

Aouar, who spent the last international break treating minor pain in his adductors, had only trained with the group on Friday and Saturday last week.

He will not return to the lawns of L1 before the trip to Metz on December 6.

That is, a month after his last appearance, during the derby against Saint-Etienne (2-1) on November 8.

Perhaps it is for Aouar a manifestation of frustration at not having received a firm offer last summer, after a very good Final 8 in the Champions League.
