An unusual and not entirely undisputed name that Meghan and Harry have chosen.
There is also a trick hidden in his pronunciation.
Santa Barbara - The palace is "delighted" and for a brief moment all scandals seem to have been forgotten.
Meghan and Harry became parents for the second time on June 4th.
Not least because of her unusual name, the little Lilibet Diana Mountbatton-Windsor is world famous after just a few days.
It is not only a tribute to Diana, the mother of Harry and William, but also to grandmother Queen Elizabeth II. She was affectionately called "Lilibet" by her late husband Philip.
Whether that is royal enough and whether Harry asked his grandmother's permission has been speculated in the media for days.
In Germany in particular, however, one seems to overlook the correct pronunciation of the little ones all too often in these speculations.
Lilibet Diana: This is how Harry and Meghan's daughter is pronounced correctly
At first glance, Lilibet doesn't seem like an unpronounceable name.
But the correct British pronunciation has a little something special.
The last syllable - we Germans like to pronounce it like the word bed - is almost completely swallowed in English.
Lilibet becomes “Lilibit” with a very short “i” in the last syllable.
Maybe Duchess Meghan and Prince Harry prefer to call the little one "Lilli" anyway.
The nickname has been one of the most popular baby names in Germany for several years and the best: It is incredibly easy to pronounce.
