Ten types of Italian cold cuts, manufactured by the company Fumagalli and marketed under the Carrefour bio and Carrefour Sélection brands, are undergoing a recall procedure after the discovery of listeria in batches of mortadella, the distribution group announced Friday.
Bresaola, coppa, speck… The withdrawal concerns all the lots of products listed by Carrefour in its press release, regardless of their expiration date. "Self-checks have demonstrated the presence of Listeria monocytogenes at levels higher than those authorized in two batches of organic Mortadella Carrefour", explains the group.
"Carrefour has decided, as a precaution, to extend the recall to all other deli meats sliced and packaged on the same manufacturing site" from the Italian company Fumagalli, he continues. Carrefour's press service was unable to specify the volumes concerned on Friday evening.
Up to eight weeks of incubation
Carrefour recommends that people who hold these products "not to consume them and destroy them or bring them back to the store, where they will be reimbursed".
He invited those who would have consumed these cold meats and "would present a fever, isolated or accompanied by headaches, [...] to consult their doctor by notifying him of this consumption".
Listeria is a bacterium that can cause complications in the most fragile: young children, the elderly, patients with low immune defenses, pregnant women. The incubation period for listeriosis can be up to eight weeks.

In addition, several references of minced meat trays and minced steaks marketed by Auchan are the subject of a recall, this Friday indicates the magazine 60 million consumers, which lists the products. These could contain metallic filaments.
