Listeria risk: after Carrefour, a pancake recall extends to Auchan

Customers who have one are asked not to consume this product if its code begins with 188 and its health stamp is FR 22 093 041 CE . The products must be brought back to the store and will be reimbursed.

Moreover, Auchan and Carrefour Bio are issuing two other recalls, still concerning batches of Bernard Jarnoux pancakes.

At Auchan, it is also a packet of eight vanilla pancakes, the use-by date of which is July 6. Product reference: merchant batch that starts with 188. Barcode: 3596710351145 . The product will be refunded if returned.

At Carrefour, packages of 6 organic cane sugar pancakes are affected by the recall. Use-by date: July 26. Lot starting with 188 also. Barcode: 3560070962723 . Again, the product will be refunded if returned.

Listeria contamination can lead to listeriosis disease. A rare disease that can lead to infection of the brain. The symptoms are mainly fever and headache. It is recommended that pregnant women be " particularly attentive to these symptoms ", as well as " immunosuppressed people and the elderly " to do the same. The incubation period for listeriosis can be up to 8 weeks, hence the importance of this information even though the products in question are already expired.
