In Shanghai, health workers have triggered a collective flight reflex among customers at an Ikea store in the popular Xuhui district, wanting to quarantine those present.
As the “Handelsblatt” reports, it had previously become known that one of the customers had been in the vicinity of a corona infected person for a long time.
However, the spontaneous lockdown did not lead to those present complying.
On the contrary - everyone was still trying to reach the exit at the last second before the doors closed.
Videos on social media show people falling on top of each other.

The reaction of the people was no coincidence: The experiences they have had with the authorities' Corona policy are too bad.
In the spring, the government put the residents of the 25 million metropolis under house arrest for two months to slow the spread of the virus.
China's zero-Covid strategy repeatedly provides for short-term lockdowns in which entire streets are cordoned off.
There have already been numerous panic scenes across the country.
Whether in Shenzhen, the capital of Sichuan Province, Chengdu, or the holiday island of Hainan - people fled via stairwells, backyards and side streets in order to at least be able to spend the time of the closures in their own homes.
The Ikea customers who didn't make it out on time on Saturday had a bad hand.
They had to stay in the store until midnight and were then taken to quarantine hotels.
The measures included two days of isolation and another five days of strict monitoring of personal viral loads, Zhao Dandan of the Shanghai Health Commission said during a news conference on Sunday.
