Loretta Lynn, one of the most beloved and successful country singers of all time, has passed away at the age of 90. According to her family, she died in her sleep.



Lynn, a three-time Grammy Award winner who received the Presidential Medal of Freedom from Barack Obama, was one of the first women to become country music superstars, and the first to receive a gold album.

She wrote more than 160 songs, and released about 60 albums.

The autobiographical poem "Coal Miner's Daughter" is considered one of the greatest poems of all time.



The story of her life was immortalized in the biographical film called "Coal Miner's Daughter", like the famous Lahita.

She was portrayed in the film by Sissy Spacek, who even won an Oscar for the role.

Lynn was born in Kentucky to a poor family, and several of her other siblings also made it big as musicians.

Her career spanned about six decades, and her peak was especially in the 1960s and 1970s.

She was unusual in that she wrote many of her poems.

In the 2000s, she was revived, and among other things, she recorded an album with Jack White, which even led to her winning a Grammy when she was 72.



Lynn is survived by three daughters and a son.

Another daughter and son died during her lifetime.
