Lots of loans: Poingen cargo bike very popular

The cargo bike, which the municipality of Poing lends to citizens free of charge, is very popular.

Especially with a group.

Poing - “A great quota”: With these words Michael Wenzl, community expert for environment, energy and climate protection, comments on the rental times of the e-cargo bike in the community of Poing.

In the environmental and climate protection report for the year 2020, which Wenzl has now presented to the local council, it says that the bike "was rented out on more than 80 percent of the possible rentable days (201) (172) and was on the streets of Poing".

Due to the first lockdown in the corona pandemic, rental could not start until May 11th in 2020.

The e-cargo bike is available to Poingen citizens free of charge.

Poing: Free rental since 2019

As Michael Wenzl writes in the annual report, the past year has shown that the cargo bike is used more and more often as such, "for example to transport large or bulky items to the recycling center".

The bike, which has been on loan since 2019, is mostly used as a family vehicle.

The report says: "The children in particular have fun in the transport box, in which they can get safely buckled from A to B."

With the electrically assisted cargo bike, goods weighing up to 100 kilograms or up to four children under the age of seven can be transported.

The location is in front of Rathausstrasse 4. The loan can take between one day and three days.
