Lottery Euromillionen: jackpot of 220 million in France cracked

In France, a record jackpot of the Euromillions lottery of 220 million euros was cracked on Friday evening.

The lucky one now has 60 days to register for the win, said a spokesman for La Française des Jeux.

So far, the biggest win from the lottery in France was 200 million euros.

According to the lottery organizer, the winning ticket bears the numbers 21, 26, 31, 34, 49 and the so-called star numbers 2 and 5.

Euromillions has been played since 2004.

Players from France, Spain, Great Britain, Luxembourg, Belgium, Switzerland, Portugal, Ireland and Austria take part in the cross-border lottery.

The previous record jackpot of 210 million euros went to Switzerland in February.

While a nine-digit sum should flow in France, someone in Lower Saxony can also look forward to a very high profit: the Euro jackpot of around 33 million euros.

As the regional lottery company announced on Saturday, a player who had submitted the ticket in the Hanover region won here.

The identity of the person is not yet known, said a spokeswoman for Toto-Lotto Lower Saxony.

28.35 euros stake

The ticket for the Eurojackpot was therefore given together with participation in the additional Super 6 and Spiel 77 lotteries.

The stake was 28.35 euros.

With the winning numbers 2, 6, 8, 21, 25 and the euro numbers 6 and 9, he or she won 33,234,495.10 euros in the drawing on Friday.

It was initially unknown when the ticket was submitted.

Instead of the usual five numbers at the Eurojackpot, the person typed six numbers, from which all arithmetically possible five-way combinations were automatically formed, announced the lottery company.

He or she was the only participant in Europe to hit the winning numbers including the euro numbers and thus achieved the prize in prize class 1.

The chance of cracking the highest class at the Euro Jackpot is around 1 in 95 million.
