Inter Milan extended the gap to 11 points at the top of Serie A, thanks to goals from Romelu Lukaku and Lautaro Martinez in a 2-1 victory over Sassuolo today to claim their tenth successive victory in the league.
Nine rounds before the end, Inter are on their way to winning their first league title since 2010 with 71 points, 11 points ahead of second-placed Milan.
Sassuolo remained ninth with 40 points.
Belgian Lukaku headed in the upper corner of the goal in the first half before Argentine Martinez finished off his counterattack in the net as Inter continued their advance to the title.
Sassuolo had possession of the ball in the San Siro until Hamed Traoré scored the goal of reducing the difference with a superb shot five minutes before the end.
