Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko considered that Western sanctions, which included fertilizers, petroleum products and supply chains, made grain a weapon capable of destroying food markets.
"The crazy wheel of sanctions imposed on fertilizers and petroleum products, transport logistics, including shipping and insurance, threatens not only to disrupt subsequent agricultural seasons, but also to collapse food markets," Lukashenko was quoted as saying by TASS news agency.
He pointed out that "the rise in grain prices will lead to an immediate increase in the prices of other foodstuffs and livestock products."
