The organizing committee of the Olympic Games revealed the route that will be held to mark the Women's March in Versailles - one of the significant events of the French Revolution

The organizers of the Paris 2024 Olympics revealed today (Wednesday) the marathon course for the Olympic Games, where they will pay tribute to the women's march in Versailles, while avoiding the possibility of breaking records due to the challenging course that awaits the runners.

The route will follow a similar path of the Women's March - one of France's most important events - which saw women from the markets of Paris revolt against the monarchy, marching on the Palace of Versailles on October 5, 1789.

The official announcement of the organizers stated that the route will mark the 233rd anniversary of the event, which is considered one of the most significant moments in the French Revolution, which led to the abolition of the monarchy.

In parallel with this issue, the women's marathon is scheduled to be the last athletics event of the Games on August 11, a day after the men's marathon.

The Hotel de Ville will be the starting point of the race - where the women gathered for the march in 1789 - similar to the people of Paris during the French Revolution, the runners will arrive in Versailles before making their way back to the capital city - and will pass through the Louvre, Parc André Citroën and the Eiffel Tower, among others.

Paris 2024 also remains committed to its mass running event, and will allow 20,024 runners in both the marathon and 10km race - the first of its kind to run in conjunction with the elite race.
