The General Coordinator of the Egyptian People's Committee for Solidarity with the Syrian People, Hisham Lutfi, stressed the necessity of immediately lifting the unilateral coercive economic measures imposed on Syria, describing the measures as a "major crime".

Lotfi said in a statement to SANA correspondent in Cairo today, "The American administration that planned and plotted the conspiracy that targeted Syria for years now, and within the framework of completing its plan, imposes unilateral economic sanctions against it in violation of international legitimacy and all international laws and charters," adding that "the American administration has consistently violated the law The international community and the movement outside the legal international frameworks, which requires an international stand against the arrogant policies pursued by Washington, including the illusion that it controls the world.

Lotfi stressed that Syria has changed the international political map thanks to its legendary steadfastness in confronting terrorism and made sacrifices to the world with its victories over terrorist organizations, which calls on the international community to confront the measures imposed on Syria.
