World footballer Robert Lewandowski from top Spanish club FC Barcelona was violently attacked before training.

As Spanish media reported unanimously on Thursday, three people opened the passenger door of Lewandowski's car in front of the Catalans' club premises and ripped his watch from the Pole's wrist.

The goalscorer wrote autographs from the vehicle at the time.

The robbers then fled.

Lewandowski followed the people with the car, but lost sight of them.

According to reports, the police arrested a perpetrator a little later who confessed.

In the evening, the officials secured the luxury watch, a model from Patek Philippe worth around 75,000 euros – it was buried in an orchard not far from the training ground.

Footballers are often victims of burglars

Other football stars have repeatedly been victims of burglars using a special scam by burglars in recent years: in 2019, for example, Kevin-Prince Boateng jewels worth 300,000 euros were stolen while he was on the pitch for FC Barcelona.

Today's Bayern player Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was broken into twice during his time at Paris Saint-Germain.

Perpetrators got into Paul Pogba's apartment in March while he was fighting for a place in the Champions League with Manchester United.
