A man was shot dead in the back Thursday evening in the 3rd arrondissement of Lyon, we learned this Friday from a police source.

The scene took place on rue de la Balme, a little after 7:30 p.m.
The victim, a man in his 30s, was sitting in a stationary vehicle on the passenger side when an individual emerged from behind the car and fired at the man once, the touching in the back.

Quickly taken care of by the firefighters called on the spot, the victim died on arrival at the emergency room.
An investigation was opened by the prosecution and entrusted to the judicial police of Lyon.
If the modus operandi strongly resembles that of a settling of scores between rival gangs,
"nothing allows for the moment to confirm this hypothesis"
, recalls the police source.
The victim was not known to the police.
