The Football Association's tribunal decided today (Wednesday) to keep Bogdan Planic out of one actual game, after he erupted towards referee Niv Steif in a game against Hapoel Jerusalem on Saturday. According to this, Planic will not play against Maccabi Netanya this coming Sunday.
Planic himself claimed he only wanted to ask Steiff why he did not stop the game after suffering a head injury.
"With the final whistle I asked the referee why he did not stop the game while I was lying on the grass after suffering a blow to the head that caused me to faint," he said after the 1-1 draw. .
In the decision of the referee Giora Landau in the court, it was written:
Defendant chose to do so and a conversation that began in a relatively calm manner became an incident in which he lost his composure and club representatives were forced to block him with their bodies.
"The referee of the game does not list the things said by the player and even chose not to issue the player a yellow or red card and therefore I accept the words of the player who did not curse or use blatant language against the referee."
