Maccabi Haifa wants to join the Balkan league already this season, Israel Today has learned.
The Greens, who have been relegated to the National League this year, are interested in playing in two frameworks and have even received approval to do so from the Basketball Association.
Today (Wednesday) the club's leaders will meet with Balkan league general manager Shai Strix and then a final decision will be made on the matter.
If Maccabi Haifa's request is accepted, it will be the third team this year in the factory after Hapoel Galil Elyon, which won the opening game of the season 45:56 yesterday against Balkan Botbograd and Urbani Nahariya, which will meet Barua on Thursday (18:00).
Yesterday, the team from Carmel started the season in the second league and lost 89:86 at LS Ramat Hasharon after extra time.
Daniel Kuperberg was tremendous for the Greens with 23 points and 15 rebounds.
Kevin Capers, the king of baskets in the second league in the 2019/20 season, sniped 31 points for Ramat Hasharon.
