For TSV Peiting there was a lot of reason to cheer at the start of the national leagues.

Peiting - stock sport takes place in the ice rink in winter and outdoors in summer.

The Bundesliga teams now also compete under the roof in the warm season so that they can play regardless of the weather.

In the past, TSV Peiting used the triple hall at Birkenried for its appearances in the Bundesliga or Champions League.

This year, the stick shooters from the market town moved back to the local ice rink, home of the ice hockey league club EC Peiting.

"There we need a special substructure for the like-ice surface, but we can leave everything in contrast to the triple hall and don't have to dismantle anything after the games," explained Christian Lindner from the TSV stock shooters.

Peiting I and Ii each win 8-2

With their two men's teams in the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga, they got off to a tailor-made start to the season. Both teams won their home game 8-2. The first set did nothing against the EC Altwasser Windorf. "Windorf is a top team," reported Lindner of an opponent who took part in the European Cup in 2019. "But our boys were well prepared for the game," said Lindner, visibly satisfied. Alexander Vöst, Matthias Adler, Christopher Schwaiger and Thomas Baumgartner shone with a unified team performance and they made only a few mistakes, which resulted in three game wins and two draws (17:13, 9: 9, 14: 6, 11:11, 15 : 11) brought in against the Lower Bavaria. On the way to qualifying for the German championship, the declared season goal of the Peitinger, this was the ideal start. For the right to start in the DM, first or second place in the group of four is required. There are no relegated players this season.

2nd league: No promoted team, but prize money

This means that no promoted players will be played out in the 2nd Bundesliga. "The only incentive is prize money," reports Christian Lindner, who, with his son Michael, Matthias Unglert and Daniel Steber (substitute Ludwig Baumgartner), forms the second line of TSV who were clearly ahead of TSV Kühbach II in the end . “I had a mistake in the first game, which is why we lost. But we stayed focused and achieved four wins in a row, ”reported Lindner after the 8: 2 (11:19, 18: 6, 15:11, 14: 7, 12:10) success on the demanding tracks. Both of the Peitinger's home games were broadcast live on “Youtube”. "The broadcast was a complete success," said Lindner happily about the large number of viewers who followed the games commented on by Ulrike Lachenmayer, which a five-person team led by Hans Bußjäger brought onto the screens with four cameras.

Lindner was less satisfied with the decision of the Bavarian Ice Sports Association (BEV) to cancel all leagues below the 1st and 2nd Bundesliga this year. "That's a joke," the head of the World Ice Stock Association annoyed. But he's in good spirits that the Champions League can be played in late summer. "There will probably be a shortened version in September," said Lindner, who is also planning a major international competition in Peiting. "We want to play the Nations Cup with Germany, Austria, Italy and Switzerland here," reports Lindner. A date for this event has not yet been set.

What is certain, however, is that the first TSV team will play their first away game at FC Ottenzell on Saturday, June 19 (2 p.m.). "They have one of the best summer teams in Germany," says Lindner. He has great respect for the Upper Palatinate, who also started their game successfully with a 6: 4 against EC Hauzenberg. TSV Peiting II will be at SSC Gachenbach on Sunday, June 20 (10 a.m.). "The Gachenbachers played in the 1st Bundesliga for years, which is why they are the clear favorites," said Lindner.
