Usually there are interesting projects to marvel at at the “Urban Development Day”.

This time too, but in the form of an exciting film.

Freising - The city of Freising is breaking new ground for the nationwide “Urban Development Funding Day” on Saturday, May 8th: Due to the current situation, it is unfortunately not possible to jointly “live” visits to projects that, thanks to federal and state funding can be implemented by the private sector as well as by the city of Freising.

This year, however, the day must not pass carelessly: In 2021, the federal, state and local governments will finally celebrate the anniversary “50 years of urban development funding”.

In focus: Asam removal and opening of the Stadtmoosach

The city of Freising congratulates and therefore provides information with a film that focuses online in the big anniversary year on the general renovation of the Asam building and the opening of the Stadtmoosach in the upper old town: In addition to many private renovations, the extensive work in the city center is currently the focus of urban development funding - These projects are initially funded in the “Active Centers” urban development program and now in the “Living Centers” program with funds from the federal government, the Free State of Bavaria and the City of Freising. In the post, which will be released on Saturday at https://innenstadt.freising.de, Lord Mayor Tobias Eschenbacher, Ulrich Setzwein (project manager of the asam refurbishment in the building construction department),Michael Schulze (coordination of inner city redevelopment in the Office for Urban Planning and Environment) and Julia Bönig (district manager of the city and managing director of Active City Freising) have their say.

Citizens should get involved in their city

The nationwide "Urban Development Day" is a joint initiative of the federal government, the federal states, the German Association of Cities and the German Association of Towns and Municipalities to provide information about goals, strategies and specific projects in urban redevelopment and urban development. As a joint task, urban development funding is a central pillar of the federal government's urban development policy on the way to also meeting local structural, economic, social and ecological challenges. In addition, the citizens should be motivated to participate in the development of their district and to help shape their own living environment. Every year the city of Freising provides information about its initiatives and construction progress, especially urban redevelopment - private individuals have long since joined and are investing in the redevelopment of their buildings. The municipality is able to support many of these activities with funds from urban development funding.
