It's also bad if you'd like to eat chips but there aren't any in the house.

There's two pieces of good news here: you can quickly make your own chips using a microwave without unwanted additives.

And without any fat.

Even if you don't count calories, you're usually happy if you don't eat too many of them.

The fatal thing about potato chips from the supermarket is the combination of fat, the carbohydrates from the potatoes and an often very salty spice mixture, which can lead to an almost intoxicating emptying of the bag.

Making the chips yourself in the oven is an option - but it takes a lot of energy and the result is often not so crispy.

One solution for this is a microwave, in which you can make potato chips according to your own taste preferences.

For the basic variant, you need the

following ingredients or things according to the portal

The Potato :

  • potatoes

  • Salt and any other spices you like, such as pepper, sweet paprika or similar.

  • Long wooden skewers

To prepare the potatoes, peel them and cut them into very thin slices using a vegetable peeler or vegetable slicer.

Place the slices in a bowl of water for a few minutes to dissolve some of the starch.

Drain off the water and squeeze the potato slices between paper towels.

Season the slices and place them on the wooden skewers with some spacing so that the potatoes do not touch each other.

Place the skewers over a microwave-safe bowl and microwave for about 3 to 4 minutes at 800 to 850 watts.

But you should keep an eye on the potatoes, otherwise they will burn quickly.

Remove the chips from the sticks, season if necessary and eat immediately.

A chip variant with oil for even more taste
