A serious wounding case occurred in Sheung Shui early in the morning yesterday (16th). A man was chopped to severe injuries and was once in critical condition. At 4:50 am yesterday (16th), the police received a report that a 48-year-old man surnamed Lei was suddenly beheaded and seriously injured by three swordsmen while he was walking through an open space outside of Xiangde Building in Xianghua Village.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the swordsman rushed out of a private car and cut Lei Man's hand, foot and back. The wound on his back was 10 cm long; the murderer fled afterwards.

After Lei Nan was sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment, his condition was once critical.

It is understood that the incident involved land disputes.

About 20 minutes later, a private car used by the three assailants to escape the scene was burned in Palxiang.

According to the police, a 48-year-old man named Lei was attacked by three assailants in an open space outside of Xiangde Building in Xianghua Village.

The assailant fled afterwards.

Police officers arrived at the scene and after in-depth investigation, from about 11 o'clock last night (16th), three local men (ranged between 22 To 40 years old), all the arrested men are now being detained for investigation, and the case is handed over to the New Territories North Region Anti-Triad Action Team for follow-up.

After Lei Nan was injured, he was soberly sent to the Prince of Wales Hospital for treatment.

At 5:06 in the morning yesterday (16th), a passer-by found a private car on Sancun Road, Hengtaishan, was on fire and called the police for help.

Firefighters arrived at the scene to put the fire out. The front and rear license plates of the private car were taken off, and the interior was severely burnt, blacked out and left behind. The police officers found a fuel tank believed to be a combustion-supporting agent nearby.

The case was classified as an arson case. Preliminary investigation revealed that after the three arrested men committed the crime, they boarded the private car and fled.
