A person claiming to be the author of the shots which seriously wounded a thirty-something in Montpellier on Monday, while visiting Emmanuel Macron, was taken into custody, a police source told AFP on Tuesday (April 20).

The man spontaneously presented himself to the central police station in Montpellier on Tuesday morning, according to the daily
Midi-Libre
which reveals the information, adding that he too would have been shot in the altercation.
Monday, while the President of the Republic and the Minister of the Interior were visiting Montpellier on the subject of security, a man was seriously wounded by bullets in the Beaux-Arts district, close to the old center .
The gunman had fled in a light vehicle and the weapon, the type of which was not specified, was found there.
Wounded in the chest and in the back by three bullets, the thirty-something remained in critical condition Tuesday evening, according to Midi-Libre.
The judicial police were seized of the investigation.
