Mansour warns of the consequences of occupation violations in occupied Jerusalem

The permanent representative of Palestine to the United Nations, Riyad Mansour, warned of the consequences of the violations and attacks of the Israeli occupation against the occupied city of Jerusalem, which aimed to change its demographic character, calling on the United Nations and the international community to take swift and urgent action to stop it before it is too late.

According to the Wafa Agency, Mansour, during a series of emergency meetings to save the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, held with Zhang Jun, the permanent representative of China to the United Nations, whose country chairs the UN Security Council for the current month, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, stressed that what is happening in occupied Jerusalem should not be dealt with However, it is a fait accompli that is difficult to avoid and prevent.

Mansour stressed the need to save the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem, protect its Jerusalemites, and prevent the crime of seizing their homes and property by settlers supported by the Israeli occupation forces, calling on the United Nations to take effective action to prevent the occupation entity from carrying out this crime.

Mansour praised the Palestinians' response in Jerusalem to the attacks of the occupation forces on their sanctities and properties, stressing that they deserve international support because they defend their rights and freedoms that are guaranteed to them in all international laws and laws.

In their turn, the President of the UN Security Council and the Secretary-General of the United Nations affirmed that what the Israeli occupation is doing in Jerusalem is clearly contrary to international law and must stop immediately, stressing the obligation to provide protection to the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem.

In addition, France, Germany, Italy, Spain and Britain called in a collective statement to the Israeli occupation authorities to stop their settlement and Judaization measures in the occupied Palestinian territories and to stop the forced displacement of Palestinians, especially in the Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem.
