Maxi López announced his retirement from football with an emotional post: 'It was a beautiful trip'

Striker Maximiliano López, who emerged in River and with a career that took him to giant clubs in Europe such as Barcelona and Milan, announced today his retirement from football.

"Thank you all for helping me fulfill my dream. It was a beautiful trip ...", Maxi López greeted from his Instagram account.

The publication was accompanied by a nice video in which he went through the different shirts he wore in the leagues of Brazil, Russia, Spain and Italy.

Although he was never called up to play in the senior Argentine National Team, he did so for the youth teams at the beginning of his career, winning two titles: the 2003 South American Under-20, in Montevideo, and the gold medal in the Pan American Games. from Santo Domingo, in 2003.

As soon as he broke the news, he immediately received the affection of many former colleagues and colleagues, including "Papu" Alejandro Gómez, Juan Iturbe, Mauricio Pinilla and Fabio Quagliarella.

López, born on April 3, 1984 and 37 years old, debuted in the Primera de River in 2001 and then built a long career that took him to Barcelona and Mallorca (Spain);

Milan, Torino, Sampdoria, Catania, Chievo Verona and Crotone (Italy);

FC Moscow (Russia);

and Gremio and Vasco da Gama (Brazil).

In total he won 9 titles, standing out the three leagues he achieved with River between 2002 and 2004, the two with Barcelona in 2005 and 2006, and the Champions League that he raised with the Culé team, also in 2006.

His last team was Sambedenettese, from the third division of Italian football.

Off the courts, Maxi López gained notoriety for the conflicts with his ex-wife, the model Wanda Nara, and her new partner, the current PSG de France striker Mauro Icardi, with whom he shared a squad during his time in Sampdoria.
