Mayor of Tepoztlán, Mexico, dies after announcing he had covid-19

The municipal president of Tepoztlán, Rogelio Torres Ortega, died this Tuesday, according to the City Council of the Mexican city in a statement published on Facebook.

Torres Ortega had been in isolation since March 31, when he announced that he had tested positive for covid-19.

Both the Government of Morelos and the state Congress mourned the death of the mayor.

Rogelio Torres Ortega had begun his term in 2019.
