The chemicals dealer Brenntag expects more profit for the current year than before.
Essen - The forecast is being raised against the background of the strong results in the first quarter, the continuation of the positive earnings trend in the second quarter and taking into account the prospects for the rest of the year.
Brenntag now expects earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization of 1.16 to 1.26 billion euros, according to a statement published by the company on Thursday evening.
Previously, the MDax group had expected 80 million euros less each.
The prerequisite for achieving this is that the further influence of the Covid 19 pandemic on both the macroeconomic framework and the Brenntag Group does not deviate significantly from the currently known extent. The company plans to publish its report for the second quarter of 2021 on August 10, 2021. (dpa)
