(ANSA) - ROME, DECEMBER 04 - "I think the pandemic is still the main challenge" for the economy, because "it creates uncertainty in our society".
But "experience shows us that despite the uncertainty and risks of new variants, the economy has adapted to the pandemic in recent months. Some sectors more linked to direct contacts between people may be more influenced, but others, such as manufacturing in Italy, they continue to grow. The recovery is there and it is very strong ".
This was stated by the EU Commissioner for Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, speaking in Rome at the seventh edition of the Med Dialogues, promoted by Farnesina and Ispi.
