The Saxony Medical Service found 177 treatment errors in the past year.
The medical service announced on Tuesday that a corresponding error was registered in more than a quarter of the cases examined (28.7 percent).
There were a total of 616 cases that the reviewers had to examine.
In 88 cases (14.3 percent), the experts registered a direct connection between the malpractice and damage to health.
Dresden - The recognized errors happened, among other things, during surgical interventions, but according to the information they relate to different diseases and treatments.
The numbers showed only a small section, it was said.
Numerous cases remained undetected - for example because they were not recognized by patients and therefore not reported.
“Treatment errors must finally be consistently disclosed, systematically recorded and evaluated.
Only if you know the mistakes can you learn from them and avoid them in the future, ”demanded Ulf Sengebusch, Chairman of the Board of the Medical Service of Saxony.
