The Bundeswehr Airbus is considered a flying intensive care unit and is equipped according to the most modern standards of intensive care medicine.
In addition to six intensive care patients, it can transport a further 38 people lying down and is an important link in a global rescue chain in the Bundeswehr for the care and evacuation of injured or sick soldiers.
