On Thursday, she took an emotional farewell to the Chancellor - and was even happy about her dry reaction.

"You can tell by looking at me, I'm proud to have worked like Oskar for this great woman," wrote von Finck on Twitter. In addition, she shared a farewell photo with Chancellor Angela Merkel, in which both of them laugh friendly into the camera. Von Finck also tells an anecdote from that day: "When I took the farewell photo, I thanked her for reading and studying each of our documents so carefully," says the deputy head of the department at the Federal Chancellery. Merkel replied dryly: "I was always very interested in that."

Dry pragmatism: Merkel remains true to her style
According to Forbes magazine, the Chancellor is the “most powerful woman in the world” and is considered sober, objective, but also humorous and quick-witted. In her 16-year tenure she was not without controversy, but remained true to her style of “dry pragmatism” to the end. She often received criticism for this, but also encouragement.
