Surprise visit to the old constituency: Angela Merkel, the outgoing Chancellor, visits her successor - and a bird park.
There is an image that should be remembered.
Marlow (Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania) - "I wanted to say Arrivederci again," said Angela Merkel at the weekly market in Greifswald, a few days before the general election.
On Thursday, she visited the CDU direct candidate for the Bundestag, Georg Günther, in her - now soon to be former - constituency in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania.
Merkel strolled through the pedestrian zone with Günther, visited shops and took selfies with passers-by who were surprised by the Chancellor's visit while shopping.
The highlight of their visit, however, took place elsewhere.
Angela Merkel (CDU) visits the bird park before the federal election - pictures are taken for the history books
Before Angela Merkel (CDU) left, she visited the bird park in Marlow - where she became the focus of entire flocks of birds.
The employees of the bird park had given her a paper cup with - as the agencies learned - a special nectar mixture.
The cup contained pollen, fruit sugar, grain and water, the mixture is also called "Lori nectar".
And the Loris - Lori parrots - were not long in coming.
They circled the Chancellor in swarms and ate out of her hand.
Pecked a little at the Chancellor's hands.
One of the Loris even managed to land on the Chancellor's head - thus creating images that should end up in the history books.

Angela Merkel (CDU) didn't want a bird on her arm - she left that to her successor.
An eagle owl about 60 centimeters had done less to her.
Georg Günther picked up the eagle owl.
And Angela Merkel only said: “No, no.
I did well with the parakeets. "(Kat)
