This post from the Mexican TV station Telediario Guadalajara was supposed to be about wearing masks.
Leonardo Schwebel:
"It's so simple, but has led to so many problems." (he puts a mask on and off)
When presenter Leonardo Schwebel starts talking about opponents of vaccination, he loses his composure.
Leonardo Schwebel:
"'Freedom' doesn't give you the right to screw up the lives of others!"
Schwebel is known for his emotional opinion pieces and likes to share them on Twitter.
But his colleagues have not yet seen it that way.
Nevertheless, the broadcaster let the cameras run.
Leonardo Schwebel, Mexican TV presenter:
»You damned opponents of vaccination, you bunch of idiots!
Stop that shit and put on a goddamn mask!
Stop slowing down the whole world!
Yes, you, the opponents of vaccination, you are the idiots.
Put on a mask!”
In Mexico, the corona numbers are at record levels.
Some hospitals are overburdened, although Omikron means fewer patients are dependent on intensive care beds.
Only about half of the population is considered fully vaccinated.
Moderator Schwebel pointed out the grievance in his own way.
After the broadcast, he had to justify his outburst to the broadcaster.
He is said to have said: "Sometimes you have to shout to be heard."
