(ANSA) - PALERMO, 09 MAY - New wave of landings in Lampedusa where, in the space of a few hours, almost a thousand migrants landed on five boats. The last, an iron fishing boat intercepted three miles from the island patrol boat of the Harbor Master's Office and the Guardia di Finanza, had 398 people of various nationalities on board, including 24 women and 6 children.
Previously, a wooden boat with 415 refugees, a second cart with 90, and two other boats with 98 and 16 people had been rescued. All the migrants have been transferred to the hotspot of the island which was empty and which is now collapsing again. (HANDLE).
