Oscar winner Reese Witherspoon (45, "Walk the Line") has closed a million dollar deal with her company Hello Sunshine. On Instagram, the actress and producer now spoke of a "big step forward" in relation to a deal with the US investment firm Blackstone. The new, joint media company will give her the opportunity to implement even more "entertaining, important and insightful" stories about women around the world.
Witherspoon founded her company in 2016 and produced films and TV series such as "Big Little Lies" and "Little Fires Everywhere" in which she also appeared.
Industry insiders put the volume of the deal at around $ 900 million, as the "Wall Street Journal" reported.
Witherspoon himself did not give any numbers.
The actress wants to work on the board of the new company and continue to work as a producer.
With her company Hello Sunshine, the actress mainly tackled women's issues.
In December she announced a joint project with Julia Roberts ("Erin Brockovich") for the streaming service Apple TV +.
