The Minister of Health, Dr. Hassan Al-Ghobash, revealed that Syria is now in a position to flatten the curve of infections within the third wave of the Coronavirus, indicating that the Ministry has launched a platform to register for vaccination against the "Covid 19" virus on the ministry's website with the aim of equitable distribution of the vaccine to those who deserve it, explaining that the priority is for doctors, nurses, technicians and workers. In hospitals.

Al-Ghobash stated during an interview on the Syrian TV channel that the priority in the vaccine is for doctors, nurses, technicians and hospital workers, and the elderly come in second place in terms of priority, who will receive after registering on the platform a message via mobile phone about the place and time of receiving the vaccine.

Al-Ghobash pointed out that the Ministry of Health has 71 hospitals and 96 vaccination dispensaries distributed in all governorates, in addition to 416 mobile teams in areas where there is no health center.

Al-Ghobash stressed that the health sector in Syria is strong despite the crisis conditions, years of war, losses it has suffered and the depletion of medical personnel, pointing out that this sector has managed since the beginning of the pandemic to address the waves of Corona injuries with great responsibility.

The Minister of Health stated that the effectiveness of the third wave of infections with the Coronavirus began to diminish about a week ago, explaining that the numbers recorded for the number of infections announced by the Ministry of Health are real, as it has adopted a second indicator, namely, injuries in hospitals, the number of occupied intensive care beds, and the number of competitors occupied in hospitals.

And with regard to the method of drawing the vaccine among the cloud, that in all countries of the world, the process is carried out through direct purchase or through the World Health Organization, which is the partner of the "Kovacs" facility for the procurement of licensed vaccines, pointing out that it arrived in Syria after an agreement with the World Health Organization and the United Nations Children's Fund. About two hundred and three thousand doses of the vaccine passed through the "Kovacs" facility, while it was expected that about a million doses would arrive.

“Since the second month, we started vaccination by vaccinating 2,500 health personnel,” Al-Ghobash said, explaining that 3,767 people were trained from all governorates to complete the vaccination mission.

The Minister of Health indicated that the establishment of an emergency room for Corona patients in the Ministry of Health aims to collect daily and hourly data on injuries and move the ambulance system, and it is linked to a communication system with the hospitals of the Ministry of Higher Education and private hospitals and is also linked to the mechanism of oxygen distribution in all governorates.

Al-Ghobash indicated that all the beds in intensive care and competitors in Syria have become working as a single system, which reduces human losses in addition to creating a group of emergency hospitals for oxygen and a hospital in Al-Fayhaa Sports City equipped with all the necessary equipment with a capacity of 120 beds with full equipment and similar hospitals in each of Quneitra. Aleppo, Daraa and Lattakia are targeting patients who have passed the stage of intensive care in hospitals or patients whose condition is simple to relieve pressure on the intensive care beds.

Al-Ghobash revealed that about 600 “Al-Sibab” and “Al-Bab” devices were secured through friendly countries and the World Health Organization, which were distributed to hospitals, stressing that plans had been drawn up in the Ministry of Health to manage the crisis by dividing work into a set of plans to face any emergency.

The Minister of Health said, “We are now in the process of equipping a hospital in a destroyed project for intensive care, equipped with 15 beds and 11 new ventilators,” pointing out that the infection cases in Damascus have started to decrease.
