The Minister of Internal Trade and Consumer Protection, Dr. Amr Salem, affirmed that the coding process for goods and products controls prices in a way that does not allow them to vary from one region to another and reduces waste significantly.
Dr. Salem reviewed a detailed explanation from the Regional Director of the International Organization for Coding GS1 Rabie Haswani to a presentation on the coding mechanism and where the work reached to launch the program in Syria, which would save time and effort and give a complete vision of the products and commodities participating in the coding program.
The stages reached in the establishment of the website, which includes the pricing and complaints platforms, were presented. The pricing platform aims to enter the names of companies, their products and their prices, and allows the consumer to view the products, their cost and price in the market, while the complaints platform allows the citizen to submit a complaint that easily reaches the processing authority, and the complainant has the right to see its solution And the results obtained while maintaining the confidentiality of the complainant.
