This mutual aid, of which the leader had the idea during the first confinement without being able to implement it, is possible today, because the organization of Monoprix is well established.

Small traders forced to lower the curtain during confinement will be able to find a haven to continue welcoming their customers.

"Since we have the right to open, I consider that we have a duty to welcome traders who have an obligation to close,

assures Jean-Paul Mochet, the boss of Monoprix.

Starting next week, we will free up space in our event spaces and in certain departments (textiles, for example) of our stores located in 250 cities in France. ”

Each director of Monoprix will choose between the businesses closed very close to his store, in priority among the florists, the booksellers (except if the government prohibits the sale of books in all the stores of France ...), the independent toy stores, but also shoemakers and retouchers.

If several partners are selected, the owner of the Monoprix will organize a rotation, per week, day or half-day.

"We will also make our store windows available to merchants to attract customers"

, explains Jean-Paul Mochet.

This mutual aid, of which the leader had the idea during the first confinement without being able to implement it, is possible today, because the organization of Monoprix is well established.

For the premium downtown retailer, these partnerships are also a way of building customer loyalty and attracting new visitors in a tense competitive environment.
