Two tourists from Charente-Maritime, who were cycling on a departmental road near the megalithic alignments of Carnac (Morbihan) were struck by a car.

The facts occurred Thursday around 10:25 pm at a protected passage, indicates Le Télégramme.

The victims are a 38-year-old mother and her young daughter, who will soon be turning 13.

The young teenager, hit head-on, succumbed to the shock.

His death was declared on the spot, after the intervention of the firefighters.

His mother was transported in absolute urgency to the CHU of Vannes.

"I do not wish anyone to experience that", testifies to the Telegram this Friday morning the mayor of Carnac, Olivier Lepick, who was called on site at the time of the accident.

The driver, in shock, was heard by the gendarmes and taken into police custody.

He would not have seen the two cyclists before the collision.

According to France Bleu, his alcohol screening was positive at the time of the accident.
