The new guard rails on the state road between Degerndorf and Münsing apparently irritate some citizens.
According to Mayor Michael Grasl, there were questions to the town hall.
Because the community is not responsible for district roads and was not involved, Grasl asked the state building authority in Weilheim for an opinion.
Münsing - The responsible employee, Stefan Vogt, replied that there were rules for attaching crash barriers. “The group of trees including the bench north of the Graf warehouse is a solid obstacle from which the driver must be protected when leaving the lane,” explains Vogt. The same may also be necessary for the expansion of the state road towards Holzhausen. Here, the trees along the route should be preserved as possible. For this reason, guard rails should also be installed in some areas, especially immediately north of Holzhausen and south of Münsing.
The road construction authority reports that evaluations in recent years have shown that the probability of a fatal accident after a collision with a tree is eleven times higher for a car occupant than a crash barrier.
Even if there have not been a noticeable number of accidents in the past near the Graf warehouse, "it should be a matter of concern for us and for all citizens to increase road safety on our roads," writes the authority.
Nobody should be punished with serious injuries or worse for a careless mistake or bad weather conditions.
