Four days into the nuclear talks in Vienna - the head of the Mossad in an unusual statement towards Iran:
In an outstanding ceremony of the Mossad in the presence of Prime Minister Bennett and President Herzog, today (Thursday) Mossad chief Dedi Barnea pledged that Iran will never have nuclear weapons.
"Iran will not have nuclear weapons, not in the coming years, never, this is my commitment, this is the Mossad's commitment," said Barnea, who took office last June.
The head of the Mossad added: "It is clear that there is no need for 60% enriched uranium for civilian purposes, there is no need for three sites with thousands of active centrifuges unless there is an intention to develop nuclear weapons."
Barnea also referred to the nuclear talks currently taking place in Vienna: "A bad agreement, which I hope will not be reached, is intolerable. Iran strives for regional hegemony, conducts terrorism that we block every day around the world, and continually threatens the stability of the Middle East. "Our eyes are open, we are alert, and together with our colleagues in the defense establishment we will do everything necessary to keep the threat away from the State of Israel, and thwart it in any way."
