French world champion Fabio Quartararo kept the fastest combined time after three free practice sessions for the MotoGP Indonesian Grand Prix on Saturday at the Mandalika circuit.
On a wet track, the riders were unable to improve their times from the day before and we therefore find the same ranking before qualifying, with Quartararo ahead of his Yamaha teammate, the Italian Franco Morbidelli, and his compatriot Johann Zarco (Ducati- Pramac).
2020 champion Joan Mir (ESP / Suzuki), 2021 vice-champion Francesco Bagnaia (ITA / Ducati) and six-time MotoGP champion Marc Marquez (ESP / Honda) could not improve on their 20th, 21st and 22nd times.
They must therefore go through the first part of the qualifications (Q1), which drafts the two best to join the second part (Q2) to define the first places of the grid.
Combined ranking of the first three MotoGP free practice sessions of the Indonesian Grand Prix at the Mandalika circuit (4,300 km):
1. Fabio Quartararo (FRA/Yamaha) 1:31.608
2. Franco Morbidelli (ITA/Yamaha) 0.030
3. Johann Zarco (FRA/Ducati-Pramac) 0.285
4. Jorge Martin (ESP/Ducati-Pramac) 0.296
5. Enea Bastianini (ITA/Ducati-Gresini) 0.313
6. Jack Miller (AUS/Ducati) 0.357

20. Joan Mir (ESP/Suzuki) 1.033
21. Francesco Bagnaia (ITA/Ducati) 1.237

Editor's note: the drivers who have achieved the ten best times in the first three free practice sessions take part directly in the second qualifying session (Q2), which determines the first twelve places on the starting grid.
The others must participate in a preliminary qualifying session (Q1) of which the two fastest are drafted for Q2.
