At the dawn of this fifth MotoGP race in the 2020/2021 season, it is the Italian Francesco Bagnaia who leads the general classification ahead of the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo and the Spaniard Maverick Vinales. The second Frenchman, Johann Zarco, is fifth just two points from the podium. The French drivers have had an excellent start to the season. In the Qatar and Doha GPs, Johann Zarco finished second twice. Fabio Quartararo won in the Doha GP as well as in Portugal. The French will compete at home this weekend, with the French Grand Prix which takes place on Sunday on the Le Mans track.
