(ANSA) - TURIN, 11 OCT - The 34-year-old mountaineer who has been missing since Saturday afternoon on Monviso has died.
The technicians of the Piedmontese Alpine and Speleological Rescue identified the body on the north side of the mountain, over 400 meters down the north-west ridge that the man was perhaps traveling on at the time of the accident.
After the ascertainment of the death and the authorization to remove the body, the body was recovered from the air ambulance and handed over to the Carabinieri of Casteldelfino (Cuneo) for the operations of the Judicial Police.
The Alpine Rescue of the Guardia di Finanza and the Fire Brigade collaborated in the operations.
