Mualla: A committee to investigate errors in the work of the resigned Football Association

Many axes were addressed by the President of the Syrian Olympic Committee, Firas Maalla, during the press conference he held today at the headquarters of the Federation in Damascus to discuss the latest developments in Syrian football, particularly after the recent resignation of the Football Association.

Assigning a committee by the Syrian Olympic Committee to investigate the mistakes and abuses of the resigned Football Association was the most prominent of what Mualla mentioned.

Mualla added: We have given the former federation technical, administrative and organizational independence in line with the law of the International Game Federation, and we will give the same independence to the next federation, indicating that the temporary committee charged with running the affairs of the federation for a maximum period of six months will change some provisions of the federation’s internal system that do not keep pace with sports development after being presented to the The General Assembly of the Football Association and ratification by the International Federation of the game.

Moalla confirmed that the federation will provide support to our national teams in their upcoming entitlements to appear optimally, explaining that the debts owed by the game federation, amounting to 180 million pounds, are internal debts and we will pay them after they are scheduled.

Maalla pointed out that appointing the appropriate technical cadres with technical and administrative competence is a requirement that the next federation must put in its priorities, noting the great role of clubs and technical committees for the game in the governorates in electing a successful football federation administratively, technically and organizationally and capable of achieving the required results with external benefits.

The General Assembly of the Syrian Football Association, during its extraordinary meeting yesterday, ratified the resignation of the president and members of the Game Association and assigning a temporary committee to run matters headed by Tawfiq Sarhan and the membership of Nabil Al-Sibai, Abdel Hamid Al-Khatib, Ahmed Qutrash and Yasser Lababidi.
