The alleged assailant allegedly accused the young woman of dressing too short, before slapping her and dropping her on Wednesday.

A man suspected of assaulting two women because one of them wore a skirt deemed too short, was arrested and taken into custody in Mulhouse (Haut-Rhin) on Wednesday, reports 20 minutes.

According to RTL, the two friends were walking in the city center of Mulhouse, when around 4.30 pm, the 18-year-old suspect would have launched to the one who was in a skirt: “You don't want to dress shorter?

"

The tone would then be raised and the young man would have slapped one of the two women, before pushing her to the ground, slightly injuring her knee.

The victim's friend, trying to intervene, was grabbed by the neck by the aggressor before being pushed back, without being injured.

A witness then called the police, who arrested the attacker.

The latter, known to the police, was taken into custody.

The wearer of the skirt, who received three days of ITT, filed a complaint according to RTL.

A precedent condemned by the government

An investigation has already been opened at the beginning of the week in Strasbourg after the complaint filed on Sunday by a student who claims to have been hit and insulted in the street, Friday, in Strasbourg, by three men on the grounds that she was wearing a skirt.

On Wednesday, the executive had expressed its "absolute condemnation" of facts "declared very serious", said government spokesman Gabriel Attal.

The Minister Delegate for Citizenship Marlène Schiappa, for her part, traveled to Strasbourg on Wednesday morning on the subject.
